Kite surfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 15-30 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered:
A couple (3) good hours from mid afternoon. Started on my 12m Xbow, and
was good for about 20mins then the wind filled in (Michele went home - he'd
been there all day apparently) and I was fully sheeted in and having
trouble keeping an edge. Came in to switch kites (thanks for catching it
Al). 9m was much nicer and had some fun in the waves... More fun still was
watching Al performing various loops and fancy out-of-the-water windsurf
stuff off the top of the waves at quite close quarters :) For me the wind
was a bit gusty (as expected with the amount of south in it) and had some
holes in it. That combined with the slightly confused sea meant I had to
really keep the speed under control to avoid getting tripped off the board
(monday was better). Had a couple of more or less floaty jumps off the
waves on the way out -getting there slowly- and some nice fast runs along
the front of the breaking waves on the way in. Lots of fun there...
Spooks came out and seemed to be up in the sky every time I looked round...
Tried new boots today but they seem to flood with water and didn't really
feel at all secure in the foot straps - my old knackered ones were
better... Don't like boots but don't like cold feet more. Hope there will
be more wind over the weekend.
